Texas Buildmart and What We Offer

Whether you're building a whole house or updating one room, we make it easy to get a modern look. For HVAC contractors, custom home builders, remodelers and architects, our linear slot diffusers come in 1, 2 and 3 slots and lengths from 12 to 72 inches, with matching linear diffuser plenum boxes sold separately, plus mud-in versions that tape into the drywall for a frameless, built-in finish. Orders ship within one business day, and we send submittals the same business day. For homeowners replacing old vents, our standard linear slot diffusers come in more than 70 sizes and fit right into the existing register box with no new ductwork. Everything is 100% aluminum and ships from our warehouse in Tempe, Arizona, to homes and job sites across the US.

New to linear vents? Here's how they work and why so many builders and homeowners are making the switch.

What Is a Linear Slot Diffuser?

A linear slot diffuser is a long, narrow HVAC diffuser that delivers air through one or more thin slots instead of the louvered face of a traditional register. It installs in a ceiling, wall or floor, connects to the ductwork through a plenum box, and works as either a supply or a return vent. Linear diffusers have long been the standard in commercial buildings, and more builders and homeowners now choose linear AC vents for the same reason architects do: a clean line instead of a grille.

What sets a linear slot diffuser apart is airflow control. On a traditional vent, all the louvers move together. In a linear slot diffuser, the damper in each slot adjusts independently, so you can direct the airflow anywhere from 90 to 180 degrees, spread air across the whole room, or aim it exactly where it's needed. Watch how to adjust the dampers in our short video.

A standard linear slot diffuser brings that same slot design to the rectangular and square sizes found in most homes, like 10x6 or 12x12. Because it's sized to the duct opening, it fits right into the existing register box, so replacing an old vent is a simple remove-and-replace job with no new ductwork.

What We Make

A vent is in every room of a house, so it should look like part of the design, not an afterthought. Our standard linear slot diffusers come in white and black and swap in for the vent covers you already have.

Our linear slot diffusers come in 1, 2 and 3 slots and lengths from 12 to 72 inches, and we offer a linear diffuser plenum box sized to match each one, sold separately. Because they need a new opening cut in the drywall, they're made for remodels and new construction, and they're the best choice if you want to trade traditional vents for a longer, cleaner look. We also make mud-in versions that tape into the drywall for a frameless, built-in finish. Everything is 100% aluminum with a powder-coated finish, so it won't rust in humid attics, bathrooms or coastal homes.

Our best seller is the 12x6 modern AC vent cover, with the 10x6 vent cover close behind; together they fit two of the most common duct openings in American homes. Square vents are popular too, led by the 10x10 and 12x12 vent covers. For a longer look, our two most popular linear diffusers are the 24" 2-slot linear slot diffuser and the 48" 2-slot linear slot diffuser, and each has a matching plenum box available separately. And more designers every year ask for our mud-in linear slot diffusers, which disappear into the ceiling once the drywall is finished.

Why We Do It

We've worked in the construction industry since 2013, and one thing never seemed to change: a home would get new floors, new lighting and new cabinets, and still end up with the same stamped metal grilles that went into houses in the 1950s. So in 2019, we set out to build a vent that looks like part of the room, simple to install and easy to keep clean. After a lot of testing and feedback from the builders and contractors we had worked beside for years, that vent became our Standard Linear Slot Diffuser. Vents are one of the last things installed and one of the first things people notice, so we focus on one thing: modern vents that look clean, install easily and hold up for years.

Built Around the Job Site

We make standard sizes in volume instead of custom pieces, which is how we keep them on the shelf rather than on back order. Orders ship within one business day and typically arrive in 3–5 business days, with express shipping available when you need them sooner, because a missing vent shouldn't hold up a project. Ordering for a whole house or a multi-unit build? Call or email us and we'll help you put the full order together, or order online anytime from our full catalog. Need submittals for your engineer, architect or GC? Email sales@texasbuildmart.com and we'll send them the same business day.

Who We Work With

We work with HVAC contractors, custom home builders, remodelers, architects and homeowners. Because our standard linear slot diffusers fit the existing register box, installing one is quick and simple, even for a first-timer; our step-by-step installation guide walks you through it. See how they look in finished rooms in our photo gallery.
